Is it worth it to stay?

Asked by mea05key (1812points) July 30th, 2009

I am having trouble getting along with almost everybody in the office but I have some trust from my boss and made the decision to continue working tho I feel I am incapable technically of executing the responsibilities well enough in my opinion. Please put down your thoughts. Thank you.

Do you have another plan? You don’t sound fulfilled by your job right now, and if I disliked all of my coworkers, I would have trouble staying in a position. However, the economy being what it is right now, I think quitting without something else in the works could be disastrous in its own right. I might suffer though it a little longer until something better came along.

I am working abroad now. I have plans to go back to my home country to work and i have secured a job already. I am bad at socialising and I am really quiet. People seem to just hate me for some reason. AND i don;t know why! Probably i look snoobish for some reason when i don;t speak enough. DUH!

I know that I personally could never get up every single day and drag my butt to a place I couldn’t stand. If you are not happy, then move on.

You do need to figure out why this is happening, and see if there could possibly be something you can do to avoid this situation from happening again. If there is a vibe that you are unknowingly putting out to other people, then this problem will just follow you from job to job to job.

Since you have already secured a job in your home country you could certainly submit your resignation now, as long as you have enough cash to keep your lifestyle going until you get back home and take up the new job.

Your difficulties may be compounded by cultural differences so you might do better back home. However, if you still have problems socializing at home, keep in mind some of the answers you got on other threads.

I agree with everyone. Don’t stay if you’re unhappy. The money you’re probably earning now might just end up paying for stress medicines this situation is bringing you. Since you’ve already secured a job back home, I think you’ve already made your decision. Won’t it be nicer to work where you also get to be near your family/loved ones/friends? Good luck.
