For anyone here who prefers being married to a heterosexual woman: Which great comedienne would you choose as a wife, if you were single and she were willing?

Asked by LexWordsmith (964points) July 30th, 2009

My first thought was Lucille Ball—beautiful, intelligent, good head for business. But i finally decided on Gracie Allen—good-hearted, never abrasive, and endlessly entertaining.

For whatever reason, Sandra Bernhart was the first person who popped into my mind. ‘Course, she’s a lesbian, but then, that’s par for the course for me. I don’t have enough fingers to count the number of women I’ve been attracted to who are lesbians. Fortunately, my wife is a het!

Gracie Burns, if she weren’t both taken and dead.

Sarah Silverman

Gracie Allen Burns is definitely dead, and that’s regrettable, but by calling her by her working name i can remain in denial about her having been married to George Burns until she died and so never really having been available. :-(

Lucille Ball is everyone’s dream wife (or even better, why not Genie?). But I don’t know what she was like as a person. I always found Helen (not sure of her surname) and Dharma (that was the title of the sitcom) quite sexy, but again, that’s the characters. Roseanne seems to be genuinely funny.
I’ve met several comedians in person due to my job, and one who was both funny and sexy (at the time) was Jenny Eclaire. So I’d go for her, plus we got along and spoke on the phone for a while back then. My friends were always teasing me about it. She’s very friendly in her personal life btw, not the least bit intimidating.

Janeane Garofalo. I’m not even sure why… she’s just… super hot and funny to me.

Myrna Loy. Failing that, Goldie Hawn or Teri Garr.

@Jack79 : Lucy Ricardo was certainly not my dream wife—living with her was too wearing. and (I Dream of) Jeannie was not a comedienne.

@everyone : a lot of the names mentioned don’t strike me as great comediennes.
