Do any of you flutherites believe in miracles? Has a miracle happened to you yet?

Asked by irocktheworld (2119points) July 30th, 2009

I do! A lot of them has happened to me!!!
Once it was raining hard outside and I was just minding my own business when my brother asked me to se something and I did which was a BIG mistake! But I was really young anyway so what did I know? The screen door was open and I went over to touch it and then the worst thing happened.I slipped on water and I hit my head badly on the floor and passed out….I thought I died….:(
My head hurt and it was really loud when I bumped it and my brother and sister were laughing at me and wouldn’t help me since they didn’t even give a shit.My parents helped me up to see if I could keep up and then once again,I feel down and everything was black and I couldn’t hear or see anything…I was very thankful and blessed that I was fine at the end of the day but I’ll still never forget it but I’m fine now! =]
Has a miracle happened to any of you guys?

Hmm…I don’t know if you’d call these miracles…but here we go!
-I once fell out of a tree…about 20 feet up; with no harm done I think, haha
-I have to be the luckiest 5 card draw poker player in the world!
-My dad was carving a turkey, when the knife slipped from his hand and boomeranged at me…it definitely made contact with my skin but did not cut.
-I was once walking on a track at school, telling my friend a story. I put my hand up in the air, part of telling the story; and at that moment a soccer ball hit my hand, blocking it from hitting my head…strange
-Another sports ball story: I was at a birthday party when everyone was playing catch with a football. I wasn’t paying attention at all, when someone near mee screamed “I GOT IT!” and I looked up, the ball was hurling towards me, and I caught it! WOOT!
-In elementary school, we were playing with a Nerf water rocket.Whoever caught the rocket won the game. I was about to catch it when it fell from about 50 feet in the sky…and hit me in the eye!!! I didn’t even get a bruise…
Welp I’ve shared my lot =) hope that suffices

@RareDenver I meant are you drunk now? That question sounded like the ramblings of a drunk person.

And to answer the original question ‘No I do not believe in miracles’

@irocktheworld That’s a miracle? Cause it sounds like you fell down twice. I don’t think miraculous describes that event.

irocktheworld's avatar

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities but I could’ve died by banging my head onto the hard floor and it hurt really bad and was really loud,my sister heard me from upstairs!

I’m not really sure how your event is in any way a miracle.

You simply hit your head. Heads are loud, yes, that’s because they are heavy and our skulls are thick to protect against, well, hitting your head!

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

@irocktheworld Yeah, I’m gonna have to second @RareDenver and say you’re drunk.

A car ran over my head at 8 years old. Here I am. Yes, miracles happen everyday to everybody, Even to those who do not believe in miracles.

@Zendo Now THAT is a miracle! Or you have a very tough head. :)

Chongalicious's avatar

@Zendo did it even leave a scar?? You’ve sparked my curiousity…

@Chongalicious It left tire tread marks along the temple of my head and my face. Broke my collar bone. I was riding a sled down the street when a car pulled into the driveway I was in to pull a U-turn. My head and the tire occupied the same space and time. This is back in the early 60s.

irocktheworld's avatar

@Zendo Woah! That’s really lucky! =]
That actualy surprised me :P

@Zendo Oh my God…cars were way heavier back then too…but you know that first hand. If I didn’t already believe in miracles; I would’ve started to about 2 minutes ago =)

Some people will think this is crazy and I probably would too if I didn’t know all of the details (which are too lengthy to add here) but my dad’s cancer just went away – disappeared – after his dog was hit by a car and killed. He built her a wooden casket and was digging the hole to bury her when he said he just felt it lift, felt it leave his body. He said he knew it was her somehow.

He had been feeling the symptoms worsening before that, so he happened to have an appointment the next week anyway and when he went it was gone. Completely gone. That was 6 or 7 years ago and it has not returned. Whatever the reason – dog related or not – I consider it a miracle.

@Supacase Aww that’s soo sad,I feel bad for you :(

I was born, am alive, and on fluther, having a great time digesting all of the great comments from so many disparate but wise people. That is a miracle for one who has had less than miraculous times in past years. Miracles are what you make of them.
