Are you optimistic or pessimistic about our future? (Immediate and Long-term)

Those of you that know about any of my activity on this site will know that I fall firmly within the “optimistic” camp. But I would like to guage the mood of the Fluther public. So, distractions aside,how do you feel?
Obviously, by “our” I mean ‘Humanity’ as a whole.
