My mac pro makes a weird noise?

it started yesterday when ever i turn on my laptop, it makes a weird noise. it comes out from where u put the cd, and now it will take longer to turn on this never happen before its brand new. does anyone knows what it is, could it be because my son drop it to the floor, and this broke something from the inside.

if it’s a new macbook pro uni-body like mine…I still hear a click every so often when I move it around quickly. And the assumption I came to was it was the hard drive heads being pulled back so they don’t take as much damage over time. I can feel/hear the click from the front right corner area, but not 100% sure though.

There’s an update for that released today (coincidence, eh?). Are you using a 500 GB, 7200 rpm hard drive? Details.
