Have any travel tips to Niagara Falls?

Asked by surlygirl (363points) January 16th, 2008

i was thinking of taking a trip this spring to the falls (i don’t have a passport, so usa side only). any suggestions on where to stay, where to eat, etc? i live in ohio, so i could drive but would probably look for a cheap flight on skybus.

Well, if you can get a passport, the Canadian side is actually a bit better. Partly because the best view is from the Canadian side, and also it’s more developed. To be fair, it is kind of a carnival-type atmosphere on the Canadian side, though.

The boat ride is fun – you get close to the falls, and get sprayed with water, but they give you a poncho to keep dry.

The US side is fine, you can go on Maid of the Mist, wonderful, and underneath the falls, etc. But the town of Niagara Falls is very depressed. Go to DiCamillo’s bakery for
a lift. Also contact me privately with your email address and I’ll give you the home phone of my really nice stepdaughter and her family, they’ll amuse you and give you good ideas.
