None, because I’m a male.

What kind of guy uses make up?

Sarcasm's avatar

Going to have to vote “None” here, Bobbo.

Are we members of Motley Crew ?
I don’t think its normal for guys to wear makeup , unless you are a member of a hair metal band or maybe someone who dresses in drag .

DarkScribe's avatar

Lots of guys will make up any story to get a girl’s knickers off, but aside from that I don’t know of any association between men and makeup.

sandystrachan's avatar

@Noel_S_Leitmotiv What makeup do you wear , don’t say non you must before you asked .

i went to high school with this kid who everyone knew was gay but he never came out of the closet. but years later i’m still friends with him on facebook and everytime he uploads pictures he is clearly wearing eyeliner and coverup. it looks so bad, i cant believe no one has ever told him.

but yeah, i think guys look bad in makeup. its just not natural. not like its natural for women, but i think guys can get away with not having perfect skin and still look good. i dunno.

@deni i think guys can get away with not having perfect skin

I have perfect skin. It does a perfectly good job of holding all the wet stuff in.

I think that make-up just isn’t for men is debatable.
I don’t wear it.
But i did use scrub sometimes, in the past.
And how about boys/men who use Clearasil to get rid of them pimples?
Maybe not really make-up, but in a way they are (sometimes) used for vanity reasons, which, in my opinion goes for make-up too.

None. I am who I am.

I use mud.

I’m going to have to go with…none…

I’ll jump in here on the other side! I’ve been known to use concealer on occasion, mostly when going to special events or important meetings, and I usually use foundation if I am going to be on TV for some reason (usually public access). Other than that, there’s stage makeup for stage performances…but I doubt that “counts” in the scope of the question.

I wouldn’t necessarily call it make-up, but I am known to use pomade in my hair (American Crew is awesome), and Bert’s Bees chap-stick on my lips. I think that’s more like “getting all good looking for to seduce the women” though.

Oh, and also an acne scrub beforehand, in the shower, but that’s not necessarily make-up – that’s a cleaning agent.

Okay, I’m not a man…but I think when people hear “make up” they think cover up, blush, eye liner etc…
but I honestly see nothing wrong with a person using concealer. Who likes having a giant pimple on their face?! I wouldn’t judge a guy for using it, and if he got the right type, I wouldn’t even know!
My husband doesn’t wear anything, and yeah I’d make fun of him if he wanted to borrow my concealer…and we’d have some issues if he wanted to wear lipstick or something lol

i’m fond of the ‘tim curry in rocky horror picture show’ look, but its just so much damn work.

I have used it multiple times.

The first time was when I was wrestling with a girl I liked in the grass. We were both drunk. Something went wrong and she landed with her knee in my ribcage and a elbow in my eye. I had a few broken ribs and a nasty black eye.

So I had my sister try to cover up the black eye so I could go to work. We did this until it healed.

Second time is I had a girlfriend that got aroused by me in drag. I would put on her clothes and stuff the bra. Then she would put make-up on me. This was a common occurrence.

Such honesty…you are an admirable man.

@sandystrachan

I use a MAC studio foundation to cover 5 o’clock shadow and sun. I blend it in to the areas where needed. (T zone and cheeks). NYC means being in the sun alot. I like the foundations very high SPF.

I use mascara on my pale lashes.

I darken my brows with Aveda’s Brilliant hair gloss.

Since i’m not a kid anymore i always keep the look subtle and natural. I have the same policy with male bodyhair management (do it, but it should never call attention to itself).

As a kid in the clubs i went much farther with makeup: eyeliner, full foundation, lipliner and stick.

Motely Crue? thats just sad : p

@sandystrachan MAC studio foundation is what I use for the purposes I mentioned above…nice stuff.

The century doesn’t change anything, Noel.

@MrGeneVan the kind of guy who’s confused about his sexuality.
@rebbel what you posted is definitely not makeup.

augustlan's avatar

I honestly think we’re trending towards male make-up being more acceptable. Lots of young dudes sport the guy-liner look, but that’s not really what I’m talking about. Not too long ago, there was no such thing as bodywash for men and a man would never consider using a scrub. Only punk rockers dyed their hair. These things are perfectly normal now. I predict that more and more products once seen as ‘for women only’ will make the crossover.

FWIW, I’m a 41 year old woman.

lefteh's avatar

@soar Are you seriously saying that if a guy uses makeup, then he must be sexually confused?

p_rog2's avatar

the closest thing to make up that i use is hair gel.
