What is the true meaning behind my dream?

I have this ex boyfriend with whom I no longer speak with or stay in contact with. I broke up with him after I discovered he’d been cheating on me with his ex gf. Ever since the break up I have had dreams almost every night about him. Mostly ones where I am constantly searching for him. I keep searching and searching and I always get this overwhelming feeling of panic. Sometimes in the dreams he’ll contact me but the call will get disconnected and I am unable to call him back. This is starting to disrupt my sleep. What do you think these dreams are telling me?
