How do you feel about V-blogging?

Asked by perplexism (926points) September 1st, 2009

Do you video blog? If so, was your first experience weird since you were putting yourself out there for all to see. If you don’t, would you consider it?

I’ve noticed an influx of people mixing in v-blogs alongside their regular, written post and I find it refreshing. It always nice to put a face and personality to the person behind the blog.

Any experience with this?

Check out fourhourworkweek.com/blog. Tim Ferriss has topped three bestselling lists. He regularly mixes a video blog called Random with the written blog. It’s good because of the interactive experience but I haven’t used it personally. And I won’t because I’m too darn camera shy

@atlantis I’d love to try out v-blogging, but like you, I’m camera shy. Also, because I have a semi-anonymous personal blog, I’m not sure how that would work out. Thanks for the link!

I like to get a face with the story. But not as much as I dislike the slowness of video. The internet is too full with information, so we skim text. Video prevents you from skimming and I also feel like those bloggers always take more time and say more irrelevant stuff.
