Playing Region 1 DVD's On My Region 2 Playstation 3?

Asked by star_bug (65points) September 2nd, 2009

I’ve got a fair number of Region 1 (USA) DVD’s which I used to be able to play on my PS2 Region 2 (Europe) by inserting a disc a bought from Gamestation years ago, But they’ve told me that no-one has released any thing similar for the PS3. HELP, I dont want to replace them cos Region 1 DVD’s have the best features and extras!

And there was me thinking ps3 was multi-regional , well in the terms of dvd ’ blu-ray player . Wouldn’t the exploder system work , i remember using exploder on ps2 .

They were originally released as multi region and you could play PS1 and PS2 games o it but sony being sony realised people weren’t buying the new releases of games for the PS3 but buying he cheaper PS2 version! it was the exploder sys i used befor but apparently it wont work on my 60gb PS3.
