Where can I find ideas for a new hair cut?

Asked by Ame_Evil (3051points) September 6th, 2009

Ideally I would like free advice on finding a new hair cut as I am bored with my hair atm and it definitely needs something done.

I have tried searching on the internet, but websites that help are rare. I have also taken notice of other people in town but I find a problem that I can’t really take pictures of strangers to decide what to have done :D

I am a male with longish hair and am looking for a medium-long or long style.

Any help is appreciated.

You will find books and books and books of models in most, if not every, hairdresser’s salon.
With so much different haircuts in them that you’ll definitely find one that suits you.
And the people working there will be pleased to help you find one too, if the models in the books are not to your liking.

Free advice is pointless as you can’t cut your own hair anyway. Also, I have no idea what type of hair you have without looking at it. Find a few pictures of hair styles you like. Any mens magazine will show good hair. Try GQ or something that is stylish. There are also magazines all about hairstyles. Google mens hairstyles or anything like that and you will get millions of results. Find a stylist in your price range. He or she will tell you if it works for you or suggest an alternative style. Don’t be one of those indecisive wishy washy clients who can’t relax and try something new. Honestly it’s just hair, as long as you make it clear you don’t want anything drastic you will be fine.

Hairdressers , magazines could try tv shows and the internets .

I’m on my iPhone so I can’t provide a link, but in the in Style magazine website you can upload your own picture and try on different stars hair styles. It is really fun. Just google “in style magazine virtual make over” or something along those lines. It will pop up.

You mention websites, but have you tried the “image” searches provided by the various search engines? The images are different on each one, so look at Google, Yahoo and Bing, if not more.

I’m on my regular computer now so Here’s the link
It is so much fun! I changed my whole look and took a pic I had created of myself to my hairdresser to show her what I wanted.

Not really useful for men though sadly :(. Funny though sticking women’s hair styles on men.
