Do you draw on yourself?

Asked by evegrimm (3714points) September 7th, 2009

What sorts of things do you draw?

What are your motivations behind drawing?

Where do you draw on yourself?

And, do you have/want body art? (I’m curious to see if the two demographics are related.)

I have a tattoo of “Namaste” in Sanskrit on my person. Otherwise, I haven’t drawn on myself since about… 1979? 1980? I don’t remember what I did draw on myself in those days; it was probably with a magic marker in elementary school.

Ha! I used to in freshmen year
It was a lot of things really, from band logos to hw assignments, It’s was everywhere on my arms, Of course I would love a real tattoo on my arms, but nothing too big cause I’m skinny D:

I don’t draw on myself, but I have a tattoo.

I used to (and still do sometimes) write reminders on my hands if I have no paper around.

Yes but mainly by accident.

I write reminders on my hand and I’ve had other people draw on me before for fun (on my hands, arms, legs, even my neck). And I do not want a tattoo or a piercing—not my thing.

Until I was about 12 I used to draw all over myself, and my shoes too. I’d draw fake tattoos, little doodles, homework assignments, strange designs… I stopped soon after my ophthalmologist made fun of me.
My motivations were mainly boredom and creativity. I doodled constantly (still do) and if there was nothing around that I could doodle on, I would just doodle on me.

I have one tattoo now (I got it when I was 22ish) and I’ve been itching for another.

Haha yes, I draw on my arms when I have nothing to do, I just doodle. But I never write down assignments on myself. I don’t want a tatoo though… And sometimes I let people write on me. (14yo)

All through high school I would draw whole elaborate systems of geometric patterns on my hands, so that it kind of looked like i had a reptilian, alien geo-claw. I would put subtle designs in it that I guess I imagined were protective shielding matrixes, or possibly EMP weapons.

I want tattoos, but I want them to be personal and also awesome.

I write on my hands. I lose notes, but not my hand! Its attached!

I always have fun when I get casts with drawing on them. That’s the only fun thing about them, so… yeah!

Sometimes if I’m really bored I would write my crushes name on my arms and hands but not in public :P I usually doodle peace signs or love signs or even that little joke people draw on their fingers like on a couple fingers you would write “this is buggy, buggy says hi.This is buggy when a car comes by” and switch everythin around like that. It’s kinda confusing but really funny and stupid :P

I used to in highschool all the time. I always drew pandas doing naughty things like doing shrooms, or counting money and holding guns lol, don’t know why, they were always really good though, I’m kind of weird…

Instead of wasting paper for one word reminders, I use my hand. In school I used to draw pictures all over my hands. I don’t know if any other school had this happen, but in 7th and 8th grade, who ever you were dating, you’d write their name inside a heart on your hand. Like a brand to claim that person. Us Cleveland people are crazy.

@SheWasAll_ yeah you guys are… I got a tattoo in cleveland once and saw a couple getting eachother’s names inked up on their foreheads….........

this bears repeating… Names, Tattooed, Foreheads… FOREHEADS fucking hell, not their arms, not their ass, their fucking foreheads!

When I was about 8 or 9 (by the way I have never told anyone this…) I found a stash of my dads playboy mags… in the pics where all these naked girls that had been painted all over their bodies…so inspired and being an artist…I ripped off all my clothes (my parents were out for the night, dining) and began to paint my entire body…UNTIL my grandmother walked into the room and caught me…she never said any thing and neither did I…until now..

When my daughter was 12–14, she would always draw on herself. I would constantly tell her not to.
Now, she has numerous tattoos, and works as a body piercer.
I wish I had let that go. Maybe she would have changed directions.

@SheWasAll_ I made it three posts without pulling that one, I’d say I’m proud of myself but there’s really no excuse to ever reference that band short of naming people you’d like to see eaten by mildly disgruntled and underfed kittens…..

I’ve had people draw on me in the past, permanently, in the form of tattoos. I don’t draw on myself though. If I ever decide to do this, I’m going to create panoramas on my arms.

I don’t and haven’, but I have seen some removeable henna paintings I would like to have for a day or two.

I have a small scar in between my thumb and forefinger on my right hand. When I was a child, I used to use different color pens to make the scar into eyes, and then paint a girl around them on my hand.

I didn’t but my teacher did. He used to hit me on my buttocks with his ruler. So, he did ruler markings on my bottom, it was a painful. I used to like to miss his hits. Sometimes, he used to laugh and give up on me. Reason: I was always late and never completed any kinda homework myself, I used to copy from others, so I had to wait till someone finishes and checks his and gives me.

My left hand is always written and drawn all over, whether it be reminders or just little doodles. I have no plans for tattoos. Then where would my blank canvas be?
