How to project images behind me on stage.

Asked by productionmusic (2points) September 14th, 2009

Hello. I am in a band and we play concerts. We would like to incorporate images (movies, graphics, etc.) behind us. I can put the images on a dvd but what is a good, fairly cheap way to project them? Buy a screen and projector or…?? I can invest some money in this.

A projector would probably do a decent job projecting.

You are going to need a projector ($2,500ish for a good one) and a rear projection screen (I’ve got no idea exactly what one of these will set you back, but they are several thousand.) You will also have to play venues that will have 10–12 feet behind the drummer, or wherever you intend to put the screen, so that you will have a long enough throw to make a good picture.

You are talking about some pretty high end stuff. Front projection would be cheaper, but might not suit your needs.

Hi, you could go more Hi-tech and buy a Soft LED Display which you use just like a backdrop and you hook it up to your PC and you can put what ever on to it. Click on the link to see what Im talkng about :)
