Read Heidegger’s Being and Time. Most people can handle it.

Were one to observe with an eye that discovereth the realities of all things, it would become clear that the greatest relationship that bindeth the world of being together lieth in the range of created things themselves, and that co-operation, mutual aid and reciprocity are essential characteristics in the unified body of the world of being, inasmuch as all created things are closely related together and each is influenced by the other or deriveth benefit therefrom, either directly or indirectly…
And thus when contemplating the human world thou beholdest this wondrous phenomenon shining resplendent from all sides with the utmost perfection, inasmuch as in this station acts of cooperation, mutual assistance and reciprocity are not confined to the body and to things that pertain to the material world, but for all conditions, whether physical or spiritual, such as those related to minds, thoughts, opinions, manners, customs, attitudes, understandings, feelings or other human susceptibilities. In all these thou shouldst find these binding relationships securely established. The more this interrelationship is strengthened and expanded, the more will human society advance in progress and prosperity. Indeed without these vital ties it would be wholly impossible for the world of humanity to attain true felicity and success…
(Compilations, The Compilation of Compilations vol. I, p. 508)

in all your ways acknowledge him,

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.

I’ve come to realize there are somethings I will never know…I’m working on accepting this realization.

I don’t think I will ever understand all of it. But, if I could, I’m pretty sure I could handle it.

We cannot truly understand how the word works, as everything we experience is colored and influenced by a lifetime of experiences. Everyone sees the world differently. A good case is the difference between people who hunt their own meat and vegetarians. Neither one is wrong, but then, neither one is right, either. It is a case of differing opinions on sustaining the body with energy. Too often, the discussion between opposing groups becomes a flame war, and the ad hominem attacks only prove that either side is prejudiced against the other. Handling it is a only possible on an individual basis, as even activist groups that are in agreement will eventually fragment. Look how many different sects there are of all the major religions.

Same goes for the religious and the free thinkers. There will always be people opposed to your way of thinking, and this is especially true when one spends time on the Internet. Since someone else posted religious verses, I will post the most important verse of Evelynism.

Life is about choices, your results may vary.

@Jakers420 Welcome to Fluther!

I think Nietzsche would say that most of what we take to be our understanding of the world is a tissue of self-deceptions. We are only able to live with ourselves because we have bad memories, and because our minds reflexively dim our intellects in order to shield us from our own internal contradictions.

But, then again, we are barely civilized. Cruelty and violence are barely held in check. And our contradictions are absorbed from the society around us. Perhaps some day we will advance to a point where we no longer see one another as incomprehensible Others; a point where we no longer have to live in shame because we have overcome the need to oppress and exploit one another. Then, and perhaps, only then will the world become truly comprehensible to us.

We have to stop kidding ourselves. Letting ignorance (insecurity) and lack of accepting who we are and how we live to skew our idea of what life really is.
There is nothing wrong with looking in the mirror. So many try to avoid it.

Change, being the hardest to over come. Routine and ritualisem.
We learn from our mistakes and change is always for the better. Easier said then done. We are so hung up on individuality it bleeds over to “right” and “wrong” (not only making decisions absolute) but making it your individual right to see it in a way that is not about bettering yourself. Instead, allowing you to avoid the true meaning and purpose of all things.

We are no different then the Aztecs.
