Is there a way to get notified of updates from a website that doesn't have an RSS feed?

Asked by erichw1504 (26448points) September 17th, 2009

I’m looking for a way to get an RSS feed from a site that doesn’t let me. Hopefully using my Google Reader.

For example: the site www.drawergeeks.com does not have an active RSS feed, but I really would like to get notified when they add a new gallery. Is there a way to get around this? What’s the best method?

You can try manually entering in the website address inside your feedreader and see if that works.

ChangeDetection.com will send you an email when a site updates.

Dapper also allowed you to get new content delivered to you in a feed, so more than just a notification of a changing page. I never quite got the hang of how it worked though, and Dapper.net seems to have changed its focus. It did work to some extent for me, though.
