Any cheerleading savvy people out there?

Asked by mramsey (794points) September 17th, 2009

I volunteered to help coach the cheerleading squad at the H.S. I went to. The school recently merged with an elementary school and has changed their colors and mascot. So, I’m in charge of finding new uniforms. Any suggestion on websites we can order from?
Oh yea, and the school is a Christian school so we will have to be able to special order so the length will follow dress code.

Uh, I cheered at a Christian school. We had culottes that were knee-length and full like skirts. I think they were made by someone involved with the school though, sorry.

Tell them to break the mold, stop cheering for the boys and go out for the team instead.

@rooeytoo Cheer leading is a sport.

Yep those AFL cheerleaders look like they are into sport for sure! Just not sure what sport???

I would want my daughter out there on the field playing not strutting half naked cheering on the boys. Or if she wanted to do dancing and the like, then go out for gymnastics, anything to be your own woman!

Just my opinion.

Have you looked at varsity.com?

@rooeytoo Definitely just your opinion. And you can’ just assume every school district and every cheer squad allows “strutting half naked cheering on the boys”. I cheered in public school for 3 years and a Christian (like mentioned above) private school for 3 years and NEITHER school allowed slutty or way too sexual clothing or movements/dances. And besides, if a girls passion is cheerleading (which is more than just gymnastics) why would they go out for the team instead? There is NO way I would have rather played basketball. I’m not dissing basketball, it’s just not something I enjoy.

@PandoraBoxx Thanks. They have some good stuff. I just need to figure out if we are able to get the skirts lengthened because unlike rooeytoo’s beliefs we cannot have too short of skirts.
