We put some of This in ours. And depending on what you’re trying to survive you might consider guns and ammo.

My suggestion would be fewer things and more knowledge. There is a school of survivalism that says “be prepared by having a bunch of stuff,” but that has always seemed a little foolish to me, since your pack could be destroyed, lost, or stolen. And even if not, the stuff will run out eventually.

But then there is “primitive survivalism,” which emphasizes having the knowledge to get by in a survival situation with little or no equipment. This included basic knowledge of the wild edible plants in your area, basic trapping, firecraft, etc. (Search keywords: primitive survival, tom brown, les stroud) This seems to me to be the better approach.

However, to keep things in perspective, in a true emergency your survival will mostly depend on fate/chance. Preparations are mostly psychological pacifiers.

edit: OK, reread your original post. City to city roaming with 2 dogs? That’s more like tourism, lol. Bring your ATM card.

You have everything you need except money and a cell phone/charger. Actually with exception of these things, you have too much stuff. I would say only to take 1 flashlight and lose the shovel. Don’t bring batteries for stuff unless you’ll use them, or unless you have something for them. Ditch the water tank, and just bring a sports bottle. Lose the pots and pans. Wow you have too much stuff!!
