Why does my iPhone randomly not download emails?

Asked by ezraglenn (3502points) January 24th, 2008

Sometimes [I have no control over or understanding of when] my iPhone decides it doesn’t want to download an email, so it shows up in my inbox, but the content of the email is blank, and at the bottom it says something like “download remaining [x]kb of this message,” and when I click on that, nothing happens. This is extremely frustrating. I think it started around when I upgraded to the new firmware after they released it on January 15. I use IMAP with Gmail.

I get one that says somthing like” has not yet been downloaded from server” but this has been since I got the phone. I have 2 accounts I use AOL and Bellsouth. Is this similar to your problem?

I imagine this could be related to the fact that EDGE is lagging on downloading the remaining message which makes it appear as if it’s dead.

Or possibly there was some soft of interruption while it was trying to download the message the first time.

nope none of the above. Just new toy issues. They will work them out before the $199 3g comes out in June.
