What internet service should I get?

Asked by scotielee (117points) September 21st, 2009

I used to have DirectTV’s internet satellite service as for some reason, changed to AT&T’s Uverse. I am very disappointed. To make a long story short, we are canceling our service with AT&T.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a reliable, fast, and reasonably-priced internet service?

Well… where are you? =)

Well, this largely depends on where you live. Internet service providers such as Comcast and Charter are only available in certain areas around the U.S.

I personally use Charter and it has been 95% good so far (and cheap).

Gee. Supose that could be helpful. Ha, sorry.

I live in the northern part of Indiana. South Bend specifically.

Use your cable provider.

I work for AT&T, and do maintainence on UVerse equipment. Yes, I know they have troubles sometimes. What problems are you having?

@filmfann lots of choppy TV. I do not watch a whole lot of TV. My family does however and I hear it a lot from them. When I do watch TV, I notice skipping, pixelation, and confusion. We went to Uverse from Direct. On of my biggest complaints: why does ATT not give an option to select groups of channels (i.e. News, family, sports, etc.)? It seems unorganized.
