Facebook Question- am I blocked from viewing this person?

Asked by BBSDTfamily (6839points) September 21st, 2009

Usually on Facebook if someone’s profile is private and you are not friends with them, then you can still click on their name (it will be a blue link) and view their picture and maybe networks, etc. If someone’s name always appears in a black unclickable link when I view their posts on mutual friend’s walls from my profile, does that mean they have me specifically blocked or that their privacy settings don’t allow anyone to try to add them as a friend by clicking their name? I know they have a regular profile… a mutual friend typed on their wall at my house the other day and I saw it, so just wondering!

A few people who I don’t even know who would have no cause to block me have posted on my friends’ walls and I can’t click them, so I assume it’s just privacy settings.

That happens when they have total privacy set. I have two Facebook accounts, one friends and family only, the other normal. On you can see the usual junk, on the other nothing. The private one is for sharing photographs among geographically remote family members.

It’s not you specifically, it’s anyone that they are not friends with. Usually, they have to send friend requests since people cannot click on their profile.
