So twice now the fluther app failed? WTF?

Asked by patg7590 (4608points) September 22nd, 2009 from iPhone

It’s pretty depressing to
type out a whole question and have it not post. What gives? I press submit question and it just clears all the forms.

Epic fail

I think the Fluther app is a fail even when working, they need to put some work into it and come out with an update.

The Fluther app is not written by the guys that run this site. It was by these guys. Complain to them.

I am so glad that I’m not the only person with this problem. What did you do to ask your question? I bookmarked the fluther page so I can just link to it from my app. menu

I just mashed it out as fast as I could. Lol it seems to fail more if I take awhile
composing it.

J0E's avatar

@johnpowell I guess that’s the problem then, they should build one themselves.

jrpowell's avatar

@JOE :: They should.

And If I was them I would be pissed that they called the app “Fluther” with the logo and background.

At least it is free.

Copy it before you post, at least then if it erases you can just paste it back in and try again. I just use i.fluther.com so I don’t have to mess with the craptacular app.

J0E's avatar

@johnpowell You mean they didn’t hire them to make it? They didn’t have permission?

jrpowell's avatar

@JOE :: I don’t think so.

I could be totally wrong. But I would at least expect a blog post if they had. As far as I know they have never expressed interest in a iPhone app. The mobile page is pretty good.

J0E's avatar

@johnpowell Yeah the mobile page rawks, but imagine getting push notifications through an awesome fluther app…that would be sweet.

@johnpowell @J0E
They’re our friends, and did have our permission (in fact, we asked them to build it). We’ve just gotten sidetracked with lots of other things and never got it to a state where we wanted to publicize it.

Thanks for clearing that up @ben.

@ben :: gotcha. Sorry if I was spreading mis-information. I was pretty sure one of you had shot down the idea of a Objective C app. It doesn’t add anything and it sucks compared to i.fluther.com.

I installed the Fluther app. It isn’t that good. The mobile site does more faster. It is webkit. The app just adds buttons that trigger links while webkit displays the site. The icon is nice.
