What is a natural glitter for use in bath products?

Asked by unacornea (314points) January 26th, 2008

i am making exfoliating salt scrubs with sea salt, almond oil and essential oils. i used to have a natural body scrub that had something glittery in it, i don’t know what it was but it was really nice. i don’t want to put plastic or metal into a natural scrub – any ideas? maybe some kind of mineral that isn’t bad for your skin?

probably Mica,

they also use the lining of seashells in cosmetics, forget the name though… but Mica will have a more glittery appearance.

Metals such as silver foil or gold foil are natural.
