When someone leaves an answer on a question that gets modded...

Asked by evelyns_pet_zebra (12923points) October 2nd, 2009

and that someone received lurve points for their answer, do they still get to keep the points if the question never comes back? This has happened to me several times, I’ve answered a question, and someone was kind enough to give me lurve for the answer I posted, and then, those evil overlords, known as our moderators, have removed the question to be edited by the OP. Sometimes, the question never makes it back to the fold. I suppose I could have just asked a moderator this question, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen to them. Some of my best answers have been to questions that got modded.

You still get the points.

As far as I know, the lurve stays with you forever. Once you’re stuck with it, you can’t get rid of it. It’s like a curse, except in a groovy way.

GQ!
It has happened to me before, darn those were some good answers. I still got the points.

Throughout the year the mods collect all the lurve that we jellies get on a modded Q or A and put them in a bag. When the holidays come they start handing them out to all the good little boy and girl jellies. Afterwards the bad jellies get scooped up and put in the same bag and are taken to Tijuana where they are sold into sex slavery.

[mod says:] What @jonsblond and @uberbatman said. One of the few perks of being a mod is being able to look at removed Qs and GA the quips that you like. It’s fun because it feels like secret or forbidden lurve.

The_Compassionate_Heretic's avatar

@PnL A lurve that dare not speak its name.

jonsblond's avatar

What’s great is getting a pm from a mod stating that they had to remove your quip but they gave you lurve before they did so.

@mod… you know who you are! ;)

@AstroChuck I don’t think a little six year old boy would know anything about sex slavery, and even if he did, he should be polite enough to keep it to himself.~

@evelyns_pet_zebra- Just trying to do a public service and warn everybody about what happens if you’re bad.
Btw, you’re welcome.

Besides, I’m six and a half.

A mod just gave me forbidden lurve earlier. :}

Can I trade in some of my Lurve to get my question or comment back?

jlm11f's avatar

@Noel_S_Leitmotiv No, but you may buy all the mods some icecream. I’ve heard that helps.

Noel_S_Leitmotiv's avatar

MMM, icecreamy ice cream…. I like coffee gelato.

What I have noticed is that you keep your lurve, but they don’t count.
For example, I got 4 GA’s on a comment to a question that was moderated.
I kept the 20 points, but the next 4 lurve I got from other questions didn’t count. At that point I began building Lurve again.
This happened when I was a young jelly, so i know I wasn’t maxed on the lurve from whoever gave it to me.
