What does it mean to be the cream in someone's coffee?

i’d ask why i wasn’t the cheese in their macaroni. or the ice in their soda.

I like it. It means you make an already good thing even better, or that you add a good element to a person.

Since I love cream in my coffee, I’d take it as a complement.
