Betty rubble or wilma flintstone?

Asked by charliecompany34 (7810points) October 10th, 2009

hmmmm, cartoon characters from the 60s, 70s, 80s that for some reason had a certain appeal?

and who knew? marge simpson? showing up somewhere we never thought she would?

“Fred Flintstone” enthusiasts—is it wilma, betty, fred, barney?

are you married to either of the four personalities or portrayed characters above in real time? i’m married to a “betty rubble.”

Well that’s a new way to feel good about my life to date. No, I see no Flintstones characters in my life. Yay!

I live the car arrangement when we go out with friends—Fred and Barney in the front, Betty and Wilma in the back.

jbfletcherfan's avatar

@PandoraBoxx We do that with friends, too. That’s because when we girls have had a few, we can sit in the back seat & giggle. LOL

The Flintstones characters were really just an animated prehistoric version of The Honeymooners. Even the voices were similar, if you think about it.

My husband and I resemble Alice and Ralph more that Ed and Trixie.

@jbfletcherfan oh wow! i remember that song too!
and hey, while we’re at it, why do wives sit in the back as the men shuck and jive in the front on a road trip?

Well, I’m Wilma on here, not my real name of course but….
The story of how that came to be my screen name does involve Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble.
They were friends, and I think in the fast paced world we live in you don’t find that kind of “over the back fence” friendship nearly as much as you used to.
Personally I think I identify more closely with Betty, but I’m married to more of a Fred, than a Barney.

I loved The Flintstones but I’m not married to eiter a Fred or a BArney. I’m married to Mr. Peabody! (He’s my hero – sigh.)

jbfletcherfan's avatar

@charliecompany34 Because Fred & Barney had to use their feet to run the car, LOL.

@aprilsimnel
Ann Margrock, Stony Curtis, Rock Hudstone, Perry Masonary, Ed Sulleystone.

If I had a choice, it’d definitely be Cary. ::sigh:: None of the four main cast members do it for me.

Hoagy Carmichael. I can’t remember their name for him.
