What should i write in a bosses day card?

Asked by GMO (44points) October 12th, 2009

How should I sign a bosses day card that’s passed around the office. Something neutral and not necessarily memorable.

Happy Bosses Day would seem to be the most forgettable phrase you could use.

“Best to you, GMO”

But spell it Boss’s Day unless it’s about more than one boss.

Cheers! Works well.
We’re number one. Super lame and corporate.
Or:
I know what you did lastnight.

Cards for bosses are hard. My boss is not my friend. I have no idea what I’d write.

Is there a subordinates day? Did he get you a card? If someone else bought it, by all means, write your name LARGE – maybe he’ll think you paid for it.

@Jeruba Boss’s Day (also known as Bosses Day or National Boss Day) is a secular holiday celebrated on October 16 in the United States. It has traditionally been a day for employees to thank their boss for being kind and fair throughout the year.

@Zen, <smooch> I already knew that, but I can’t resist the invitation anyway.

I’m just saying it should be singular in GMO’s greeting (“Happy Boss’s Day”), just as we do it for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, because it’s honoring a particular person.

<<<muuuuuuuuuahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh>>> What were we talking about? Oh right – he asked about Bosses Day and that is also considered the correct way – reagrdless of how many bosses he might have. The card will say Happy Bosses Day, or Happy Boss’s day; either being potato.

“Hope you enjoy the day, Mr. (or Mrs.) _______.” Or first name, if that is how you typically address your boss.

In NY they say: Have a nice day, asshole.

@Zen That’s what I’ll write on his card!!! =}

Can’t you see what a suck-up I am—signing this card? Come on! Do something for me. I swear you won’t never hear another “no” out of me!

Christ in a dump truck! Is this for real? When I first read this, I interpreted it as “what should I write in a bosses day-card?” I wondered what the hell a day card was. I think I like it a whole lot better the way I read it than the way it actually is!

OK All this talk about bosses day, and I missed it.
Totally missed to opportunity to say something silly or shitty to him.

Well, there’s always next year…........
