Can you replace vegetable oil with canola in a boxed brownie mix?

I thought I had vegetable. I was wrong.

Yes. In my experience the main difference between oils is their smoking points. This only comes into play when you are frying.

There may be a slight flavor change, but all fat is fat so it will taste good.

Yes, you can. I use canola to bake and olive oil for other cooking. Cake mixes made with olive oil taste odd, but canola works fine.

Olive oil is better then canola oil for brownies.

Yes, you most definitely can. Canola oil is just an oil with lower levels of acid. It will work just fine.

i personally would not reccomend olive oil as @Samurai said. It is a waste on a box mix…

you definitly can use canola!

Good olive oil is too expensive to waste on a cake mix, and inexpensive olive oil can be bitter.

Yes. No flavor difference between vegetable and canola either.

It’s totally safe, but so is applesauce. That’s what I use. You can’t taste the difference.
