What could you not live without in life?

Asked by sakura (8267points) October 18th, 2009

If you could only keep say 5 items from your life posessions (excluding people and money) what would you keep and why?

Photos on pen drive
Laptop to look at photos and Fluther (of course)
My jewellery
my dog
my watch

As jewelery value exceeds all others by far, and I could recover or replace photos quite easily – would have to be jewelery.

My oil paints/brushes, laptop, blanket, two cats, and my apartment.

Nearly everything else can be replaced, but I wouldn’t have the money to buy a new computer or replace my materials. I can’t live without painting. The blanket I’ve had all my life. It keeps me warm and helps with a sense of security. The kitties are unique! If I have shelter, I have a home base.

Skateboarding I don’t think I could live without. It is really almost like a religion to me. Each session when Im skating is like church to me. Skateboarding has saved my life several times. When I feel crazy, alone, addicted, depressed, anything that hurts me I can go skate and forget about it and at least have skateboarding to look forward to in my life.

There may not be any thing I can’t live without. If you’re asking what I’d try to save in a fire…. pictures… maybe my old letters, but they are pretty hefty. Reminds me, I should scan them all.

People though—several, including one that is a surprise to me.

My great-grandmother’s Shabbat candlesitcks
my paintings and drawings (done by me)
my record and CD collection
my Mom’s cameo pin
