Does your life have a custom built in soundtrack?

Asked by judochop (16119points) October 19th, 2009 from iPhone

If a camera followed you around for a month and you could not hear any words just music. What would we hear as you popped through Sunday to Sunday?

Sunday: a heavy mix of under ground hip-hop mixed with some lighter pop music.
Monday: probably a mixture of acoustic in the morning followed by early 30’s African jazz in the afternoon and ending my evening with something danceable but not campy.
Tuesday and Wednesday I’ll lump together: pure sing along music. A mix of everything in my music collection. This could go from Snoop Dogg to Goat Whore to Vivaldi to Hank Williams or the Big Bopper topped with Naked Lunch or Masada.
Thursday & Friday: mostly garage rock from the late 80’s to late 90’s ala Detroit, Cleveland and Akron with some NYC bands thrown in.
Saturday is most likely filled with hip-hop, funk and jazz although you might here something like the Unsane or Jade Shader.

Any John Hughes soundtrack would be fitting. Something like this.

@johnpowell I need to add you!

Mines would be crazy, from punk to pop. Much like The Casualties to Jason Mraz. Everything but rap. And everyday there would be something by Hot Hot Heat.

I know for sure that Tonights Gonna be a Goodnight will be there, some Disturbed will be included. Korn will be too. Wed, I would say that Lacuna Coil will take the whole day. on Friday, Rhianna Break’n Dishes, and Shut up and drive. Saturday Lady Gaga’ song Poker Face. Sunday, The Police.

If I’m doing something (like writing, or math homework), I like to put a time limit on it so I don’t go crazy. I listen to Danny Elfman’s Serenada Schizophrana from start to finish when I’m doing these sorts of things because it’s right around an hour, and I’m familiar enough with it that it’s not distracting.

In the morning, the alarm clock is set to an oldies station, so oldies in the morning. (Not a bad way to wake up!)

On the way to school, I like to listen to things that are sort of angry, as a way to get “in the mood”. (Rise Against, AFI, The Raconteurs, The White Stripes, Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance…pretty much anything I’ve heard on my local radio station.)

On the way home, I like more relaxed things and will listen to Coldplay, Death Cab, Frank Sinatra, swing music, and various soundtracks (especially Growltiger’s Last Stand…don’t ask.)

On the weekends, it’s a weird mishmash of whatever I like, from Irish Folk Rock to Classical and everything in between. Except rap and country.

A few hundred songs from my iTunes favourite tracks. I am always surrounded by music – real music and I don’t like earphones.

I love this question. I will think about this extensively and report back.

If I do, I’m sure it sounds like a combination of noises from one of these.
