When you go on a trip, do you call your gf/bf more at the beginning or the end of your trip?

Asked by oddiess (57points) October 22nd, 2009

For me it is definitely the first couple of days. But the guy I am currently with, he never calls the first couple of days but starts to call around the middle to the end of his trip.
I always wondered if people are different about this.
What do you do?

I don’t have a girlfriend, my wife doesn’t approve of them. But the longer that I am away, the more often I call my wife.

My boyfriend is away at college and I was definitely more upset at the beginning so I was calling him all the time and stuff. But now, since we are both really busy, we go longer without lengthy phone calls or texts because we know it’s no big deal.

Definitely the beginning. Somehow things are more interesting the first couple of days. By my third or fourth night in a hotel, I don’t have anything new to report.

I would never call, calling is more of a nuisance then actually caring to me.

I would call every now and then depending on the length of the trip, but I wouldn’t push it. If you talk to them constantly while you’re on the trip what’s the fun in telling them all the stories about your trip when you get home?

I don’t know… I just call whenever something really interesting happens. I don’t like calling people unless there is something to talk about.

…..I always call more towards the end {.... my wife is my gf, by the way….} because I feel guilty for many reasons but also because I had not been calling as often as I should…...

I’d call three times: once to say I’m taking off, once during to say hey, having fun, wish you were here, and once at the end to say when I’ll be back if he wants to get in touch.
