What font is being used in this year's World Series logo?

Asked by buckyboy28 (4961points) October 28th, 2009

Is it a standard font, or one made special for the MLB?

Looks pretty standard to me, I know I recognize the ‘W’ but I have no idea what it’s called.

Try using this website. They can identify fonts automatically.

From this site: http://www.typophile.com/node/63436

“We need something to fit the R and the S and that leads us to Futura. The W is made of two Vs. Medium or semibold weight to get a pointed V.
Maybe the R was altered a little. This is a logo after all and not just a paper headline.

PS: the figures are Copperplate Gothic”
