When will my Rickenbacker 360/12c63 that I ordered in March of 2007 come in?

Asked by mineown (438points) October 29th, 2009

There is a two years wait but that is an indefinite waiting time.

I wonder how many guitarists are on Fluther, and how many of them play Rickenbackers, and how many of them have ordered (presumably) from the company directly? I’m guessing zero. It’s possible your local guitar shop has dealt with them, maybe they can provide you with a somewhat informed answer. If you’ve been told “at least two years, maybe longer” you might want to consider buying a used one, or if that doesn’t work for ya consider buying a different model, or maybe even a different Manufacturer altogether? I understand Jimi Hendrix played a Stratocaster, and if you’ve seen any of his live performances you must admit he kicked some serious ass using that brand. Anyway, good luck, I’m sure you’ll find a suitable resolution. Purple Haze!

Have you called to ask, to make sure it was actually ordered?

I was there when he called the people and told them the model. There is always a two year wait, but he doesnt usually order this brand so he doesnt know much about it. And A strat was my first guitar and I love it. It’s a mexican but it is better than most american ones ive played with the exception of one.

You know come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever actually played a Rickenbacker. I knew of them, but don’t think I’ve actually played one. Couldn’t really help with the question though. Just thought I’d give my two cents.

oh yea & I very much dislike strats! Nothing against Jimi, just haven’t played one I thought was decent enough to enjoy, plus I hate the “popular” name, it erks me. I’m not big on Les Pauls either, although Gibson is alright & I wouldn’t mind an SG
