I think my windows installation froze midway through.. what should i do?

Asked by Fallstand (1130points) February 9th, 2008

I decided to reformat last night and let the installation go overnight.. When I woke up, it seems to be stuck at 33mins/installing devices.. Those little random facts about windows keep shuffling through.. and little boxes at the bottom are still going.. It just doesn’t seem to moving anywhere though…

It shouldn’t come close to taking that long. Pull the plug and start over. Something went wrong.

Installing XP shouldn’t take more than a hour.

hm.. should I just try the Leopard on a PC install..? doesn’t seem like its working for a lot of people though

I would avoid installing Leopard on a PC.. You might get it to work but the next update from Apple will probably break things. It might be fun to play with but I wouldn’t use it for a computer you actually need to work tomorrow.

Funny how a question about installing XP moves to people telling him to install Leopard by the second post.

I’m a Mac user myself, but I’m certainly pro-choice and don’t think Leopard is quite the right answer he was looking for.

I would just start over at this point and hope it works the second time
