Is there any way to turn off the internal speakers on my i-pod? It plays on the speakers even when my headphones are plugged in.

I spilled water on it and this was the after effect. I dropped a lot of money on this i-pod and I really don’t want to buy a new one. PLEASE HELP! If it’s completely unfixable, how much do you think it will cost to fix it?

Hate to say it but you’re screwed. Apple has a strict policy on situations like getting it wet. Unless you can fix it yourself there isn’t much you can do.
