What is your mood music?

Asked by chelseababyy (7939points) November 4th, 2009

Everyone has those songs that they listen to in specific types of moods. I know I do!!! I want to know what yours are. What songs do you listen to when you are:

Upset/Depressed
Happy
Angry
Nostalgic
Romantic
Feelin’ a little sexy

Also feel free to add other moods along with the corresponding music.

Melancholy, dark and angry for sure. I’ve preferred it that way for as long as I can remember. Been into Metal, Punk, Industrial or Goth stuff since Jr. high and it goes with all my moods. Admittedly I am enjoying more mellow folky music these days.

@forestGeek I mean what songs do you listen to in each of those moods :D

-When I’m down, I usually listen to more upbeat music, such as baroque classical music. The music of Lully is good for that.
-When I’m happy, I listen to happy-sounding music from any genre. I want celebration music. Something bubblegum-dancey by Aqua or Toy Box. Or a magnificent classical piece like Pines of Rome.
-When I’m angry, I listen to Danse Générale by Ravel. Fuck yeah. I swear this piece exists just for this purpose. I saw this in concert; I leapt out of my seat to clap for it.
-When I’m nostalgic, I listen to sentimental music like Le Jardin Feerique, or music that reminds me of a specific time in my life.
-When I’m feeling romantic, I listen to songs that make me think of my boyfriend like “I’m Like a Lawyer…” by Fall Out Boy or I’ll listen to romantic classical music.
-When I’m feeling a little sexy, I listen to sexy music like Eurodance or Japanese pop by Koda Kumi such as “Shake It”, “Taboo”, or “But”.

I tried answering this question but it was hard. I hope these answers are accurate.

Upset/sad is apparently every song on Hospice, an album by The Antlers.

Happy is mostly electronic music and The Beatles.

Angry is I don’t listen to music when I’m angry.

Nostalgic is somehow Fireworks by Animal Collective, the music video for which even has a YouTube comment about nostalgia. What is this phenomenon?

Romantic is I don’t know.

Sexy is Zeppelin like @rasputin6xc said.

This was really hard.

Something that relates to my situation.
Like right now my heart is broken, so Thinking of You by Katy Perry finds its way to my ears a lot lately.
