How do i change the ringtone on the Motorola Droid?

Asked by Kiev749 (2092points) November 6th, 2009

I just got the motorola droid today and quite frankly, the stock ringtones on it suck. i put music on the memory card, but for some reason Android 2.0 isn’t letting me change any of the sounds to one of the ones i uploaded. How do i get it to let me change it to one of my uploaded tones instead of the ones that came with the device? do i need an app or a widget?

How are you liking the droid so far?

i really like it. the fact that its open soured is a huge plus. the lack of multi-touch bothers me a bit when texting in landscape on the screen though. but that’s just some getting used to. im not a fan of the physical keyboard at all. i probably wont ever use it.

oh, and the link is to change the sounds that are pre loaded. not ones that i uploaded myself.

You can easily add multi touch to android.

go to the Motorola site for instruction on setting up a new ringtone

Set any of your songs as a phone ringtone:
* From the music player library, navigate to a song you want to use as a phone ringtone
* Touch & hold the song in the list
* Touch Use as phone ringtone. The ringtone is now set as your default incoming call rington
