Where can I download suspensful or scary sound effects?

Itunes has plenty. Just search scary sounds or sound effects. You’ll find tons. You can also hit up your local library and check out sound effect CD’s.

I also struggle in finding nice sound effects, especially when adding the word “free” in any search. I always end up on some royalty free website, which doesn’t really have good effects at all.

I don’t even need to download it. As long as I can play it on the computer I am able to record sounds playing in the system. Thanks for the replys by the way.

Sounddogs.com – They have a great search engine and you can download low quality versions for free. The high quality version of the effects you have to pay for, but they are usually not that expensive. I have used several sound archive sites and this is far and away the best, they have a massive collection of sounds.

There are plenty of Halloween sites which have some pretty nifty sound effects accompanying the images.

There are plenty of free apps for all type of sound effects, most of them free, if you have either an iPod Touch or phone. Just go to the search part of the App store.
