How does a public health non-profit get donated computers?

Asked by pepp7377 (61points) November 8th, 2009

I work with an NGO in India that’s in desperate need of about 6–10 laptops to go in mobile health clinics. Does anyone know where I can start looking for donated laptops?

You also have to have someone who is really good at writing grants.

Sometimes you can find a business that is upgrading and getting rid of old computers. Banks do this on a regular basis. We got a bunch donated for kids to use in after school Programs.
You just have to keep asking until you find someone who can help you.

Try Techsoup.org if you are a registered NGO they also have deep discount software and other equipment http://home.techsoup.org/pages/default.aspx
