Today I noticed that my MacBook have this little green lights on the side of the battery and a little button. What are those for?

That’s a battery meter. Press the button and the amount of lights that show up indicates how much you have left. I think it has other indicators as well.

Battery Power. 5 lights= Fully Charged, 4 lights= not fully charged but close, 3 lights= about half full battery, 2 lights= not really charged, 1 light= almost out, and 1 blinking light= plug in now
