Is Mission to Mars the film based on or related to The Martian Chronicles in any way?

Never seen this film. Just came on TV. There’s a lot in my memory- even in the artwork that reminds me of that book which I still remember fairly vaguely in any case. I was just curious. Any Bradbury fans seen this film?

It’s been years since I saw the movie and many years since I’ve read the book, but I think any connections between them are tenuous. I believe both had the idea of discovering an ancient Martian civilization on Mars, but the similarities end there.
