How can I generate a square halftone?

Asked by patg7590 (4608points) November 16th, 2009

using Ai or Ps preferably. I would like all the dots to be square. I feel like this shouldn’t be so hard to figure out.

Do you mean dots as pixels?
In Photoshop, I guess, you can change the pixel shape to round or square…
In Illustrator, I’ve gotta check.

In filter galleries or effects, I think, there should be something. Please check it out. I will too check and tell you.

Dang, I thought you were asking a music/sound question…

I simply want to generate a halftone with square members instead of round ones.

It’s actually pretty easy, here is a tutorial I found…

Note: On step 4 choose square instead of round

@drClaw So, this is called a halftone. Thanks!
Wait, where is “Convert to bitmap” using halftones in photoshop?

there has to be a better way to do that.
