How do you keep a mattress topper on the bed?

Asked by rangerr (15765points) November 17th, 2009

So I have this big, fluffy mattress topper is that what they are even called? on my bed.. but it keeps sliding off. After maybe two or three nights, it starts to slide off the side yes, I have sheets.
I temporarily fixed it with two ace wraps tied around my bed, and that held it on for about a week, but it still slides off.

Any ideas on how to keep it on?

duct tape.

but for serious (although that would probably work) i would look into getting a new mattress pad/protector… i saw some today that are specifically made to hold tight to the bed (looked like they had elastic, although that may not be accurate)

They have elastic thingies that help keep sheets and things on. You can get them at Wal-Mart or other stores like that. I’d give you a link, but I can’t think of what to call them. :P

@avvooooooo I’ll have to search around Wal-Mart tomorrow. Do you think they’d still fit since the topper is pretty thick?

They’re called sheet garters.

They have things with ends on them like is on a garter belt. You put one on each corner and it keeps it in place.

heheheh, @augustlan beat me to the punch!!!

avvooooooo's avatar

Possibly. They’re around the sheets on a little hanging display. They clip on to the edge.

@augustlan Yay! Good for you knowing what they’re called.

Actually, I just noticed that the site I linked to calls them “sheet keepers”. Bah.

Will those stretch, though? My topper literally just sits on top of the mattress, it doesn’t hang over the side or anything..

avvooooooo's avatar

You can link two together. That’s how I keep up with mine when moving and everything.

@rangerr They do stretch quite a bit, but I don’t know if they’d stretch that far. Luckily, @avvooooooo seems to have a good solution for that.

You’ll need two packs if you link ‘em together… and if you want to do all four corners. :)

I just noticed how fab the girl power is on this question. :D

rangerr's avatar

Haha, I’ll test it out tomorrow night
@avvooooooo I noticed that too [:
