This will probably sounmd really vain but I like to look good. It’s as simple as that.

The feeling of health is motivation in itself for me.

Vanity for physical stuff, I want to look healthy, look good, look attractive to those I want attention from. As far as health stuff like drinking too much, smoking, etc, I’m more selfish there and won’t do much unless it seems to matter to someone else who’s invested in me in order for them to feel better or be made more secure.

When I jumped out of bed and my feet hurt, I knew it was time to loose weight.
When I felt like I was in the last stages of my life and I was only 43, I knew it was time to exercise
When I fell down a flight of stairs with a baby in my arms, I knew it was time to stop thinking about it and really do it.
My avatar pick was part of an advertising campaign for the diet program my husband and I used to loose the weight and get fit.

@Judi I love that pic! You both look A-dorable!

I eat healthy for better health. I’d like to not have clogged arteries, slow libido, or a wide bottom, too. But really I do it all for health.

- To look good for women
– Helps with self-confidence
– Helps with energy levels
– Be in better shape when I get older

(probably in that order)

It started out as a health thing with me. I was having anxiety and panic attacks and I was overweight. I started worrying that I was going to have a heart attack. I started out slow, walking outside for 30–60 minutes everyday, and started eating better. Then I started going to the gym. As I started to get healthier, I grew less worried about having a heart attack.

Now that my anxiety is a thing of the past, the focus has switched to looking better. I’m moderately muscular now and I’ve been following a calorie-restricted diet to drop the layer of fat on top of the muscles.

For me it’s that I want to feel as young and good as possible. I’d really like to be riding a bike and hiking at through my 70s, and believe that if I don’t take steps now, I may not have that option and that scares me. I also hope I will also have less health problems as I get older. Admittedly it makes me feel more confident too.

Not wanting to be fat, not wanting to have clogged arteries, wanting to stay healthy—sometimes just eating healthier food makes you feel better mentally. Also, a lot of healthy food is actually pretty good.

My health.

A desire to keep my body and my mind functioning as well as they can as long as they can. (And to feel attractive.)

To have more energy and be able to think straight.

when I’ve been able to pull it off.

When I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2006, that was message enough to motivate me to eat better, exercise more, and never take my health for granted again.

I’ve decided I want to see my 100th birthday, and hopefully more after that.
