What should I do if I miss the first delivery of Express Mail?

Asked by bianlink (164points) November 19th, 2009

I was not home when they delivered this morning. What are they going to do with my mail? Are they going to the redeliver tomorrow, or hold it in the post office? Thank you.

The USPS used to redeliver automatically the following day, but no more. You can do one of two things. You can either call to schedule a redelivery on a day that is convenient for you, or you can just go down to the post office and pick it up there.

Thanks very much. The note left at my doors says that they will attempt to redeliver automatically, but when I called the post office they told me a different story. I was very confused.

Your carrier must have left you an old form 3849. They shouldn’t be using those.

Yes, you are exactly right. It’s form 3849.
I can not believe it!

Believe it. I’ve been carrying mail for nearly 25 years. Don’t let my youthful, boyish face fool you.
