Toshiba Satellite media control buttons question!

Asked by jfos (7392points) November 21st, 2009

I have a Toshiba Satellite a215-S4757 notebook with Windows Vista. Above the “F-keys”, there are media control buttons, such as play/pause, stop, previous, next, a media player button, an internet button, and the power button. The power, internet, and media player buttons work. The media control buttons (play/pause, stop, previous, next) do not work. I might also add that they used to work.

Is this a driver program? The other buttons in the row work, which leads me to believe it might be something to do with my sound card? Any ideas?

Sounds like a driver issue to me. I would take a look on the Toshiba website to make sure you’re all up to date, or even take a peek through the discs that came with the computer (if you still have them).

Hit start and type msconfig in the run bar. Select the startup tab across the top and then scroll through the list that appears. Check and make sure that anything that says toshiba is ticked.
