How do I stream NEW tv shows to my PS3?

A friend of mine’s roommate was watching the newest Dexter episode (not on Hulu) on his PS3. He said he was streaming it from the web, and i wasn’t something he had downloaded. Does anyone know what he might be doing? I’ll ask him the next time I see him, but in the meantime, what do you think?

I have done it through XBOX, but it costs 1.99 per episode. They don’t have the latest season of Dexter yet though, although I keep looking! they do have a lot of other 2009 fall season shows. It is in the XBOX market place.

A lot of sites have streaming episodes of new tv shows (albeit illegally), and hbo and showtime usually send a cease and desist out to the hosting sites, so they don’t last long. You can access these sites on the PS3 internet browser.
