Why is "the Seven-per-cent Solution" movie so expensive?

This is one of things my dad as on his xmas list, but kind of hinted to it being really expensive so not to worry about it.

and I just looked on Amazon and New is ~$700 and used is ~$60….why are they so expensive for a movie??

Weird. In PAL format it’s $25.

What is PAL format?

It’s expensive because it was discontinued, and probably didn’t have a big manufacturing run.

@caly420- PAL is the video format used throughout Europe. In the Americas the format used is NTSC.

This is a bootleg, probably, but a much more reasonable price.

It’s expensive because there aren’t very many copies in NSTC format around, so those few people who have copies for sale have jacked the price way up. However, there happens to be one copy on eBay that is currently way undervalued.

You could always get him the book instead, until the film gets reissued.

If he still has a VCR, you could buy it on tape for a bit less.
