Is there a way to change default units in Adobe Illustrator from pt to cm?

I have gone trought the settings, there is a setting for general units, but the application still displays pts. Also the Info pannel is totally useless since even the units there cant be changed. I know, that in Photoshop, you can easily set these things by context options, but I have found no way how to do it in Illustrator. Can someone help?

Are you on OSX or windows… ?

In OSX… go to document properties (option-command-p) en choose your preferred units for the document. The tools and other info panels will follow this choice.

I don’t know the key-shortcut for changing these document settings under windows, but look for document properties there as well…
