I think that any will do. It just goes into a standard headphone jack.

I believe that you are referring to the adaptor that will play your tunes through your car stereo via FM signal? We tried one with the original iPhone, but where I live there are no available bands. It may not be the transmitter that is the issue.

MacWorld.com has their iPhone Central where they review many products… I’d start there.

Hearkat, you’re in Philly, right?

When I was still living there, I couldn’t get it to work right either and it was the one by Griffin, pretty expensive.

What frosts me is that the store from which I bought it is right smack dab in the center of town (Walnut St.) and you’d think they could drop me a frickin clue. Obviously they would have known this.

Anyhow, my advice to the OP would be to proceed with extreme caution and make certain that the place from which you purchase one, allows returns without penalizing you with charging a “re stocking fee”. grumble, grumble, grumble…

@Buttonstc: I am smack-dab between Philly and Manhattan, which is even worse. Of course the store wouldn’t tell you… they want the sale. I had considered the problem, and read up about it first; but decided to try anyway. I made sure of the Apple Store’s 14-day return policy before I made the purchase.

Yeah, in retrospect, I should have gone to the Apple Store but the closest one to CC is all the way out City Line.

I didn’t realize about the re-stocking fee at the other place until too late.

@Buttonstc: I’m still amazed that there are no Apple Stores actually in Philly! When I was dating a guy from the Northeast last year, it was such a nuisance when we needed Apple service. Then they put the one in the Cherry Hill Mall, but it’s so close to the Sagemore location, and still a pain to get to from Philly. It makes no sense at all.

My thoughts exactly.

But that’s why Springboard does such a booming business despite the restocking fee crap.

Altho to be completely fair, they carry many peripherals from other companies which you would otherwise have to mail order.

When the charger for my Macbook fried itself, I was able to save $40 from what it would have cost me at the Apple store.

But I’m still frosted about the car transmitter.
