I want to thank everyone for their kind words.
Last April, I had lunch with a friend who lives across the country. She encouraged me to join Facebook, which I had been avoiding, and a knowledge site called Fluther.
Over the next few days, I spent a lot of time working on my Facebook page, and barely touched the Fluther site. Slowly, it began to draw me in.
The people here all care about each other, even though they don’t agree with each other often. There are a lot of smart people here, and some very funny ones. I soon found myself spending 3 minutes a day checking Facebook, and a couple hours a day cruising the Fluther questions. That is because of all of you.
Getting those first few GA’s was tough, and felt very welcoming when I got them. That is why I always give lurve to new jellies.
Feeling so welcome here is the only reason I would share so many of the problems and trouble I have been through. You guys are great.
Thank you for the Lurve, but more for being such fantastic contributers to this wonderful place.

10k Turkey Day is pretty epic. My pumpkin pie felt like it came our of the frizzer, so I guess I’ll just grab some pancakes instead.
I am still thinking about the roasted beet soup with truffles and goat cheese that started the meal, and the homemade pecan pie that ended it, as well as the lovely interludes between the two.

@filmfann . . . Hey, there may be a lot of things we disagree on but that doesn’t change the fact that you seem to be a warm, genuine guy. I respect the fact that you won’t back down even if your view is unpopular and you will admit to being wrong if the situation calls for it. i have yet to see this. . .but i’ve heard stories.
The times we have argued have been great because you are able to actually get under my skin which is not only very hard to do, but makes it way more fun on my end because I’m not used to being the one getting poked. Even better, I’ve never gotten a sense from you that you weren’t having anything but fun yourself.

@Zen_Again – My neighbor doesn’t take meds for his bipolar either. He is a poet and can’t write poetry if he does. However, he does work in the yard when he is feeling particularly down. That seems to help him (and his family) cope.

@Zen_Again – His wife prefers that he be outside when he is in that mood. They live in a small house and all the computers are in the same office.
Fortunately for my wife, dear @Darwin, we are no longer married. So I bother no-one (except for Bendrew and you guys who have to keep adding me to your fluthers.lol)
They are raising three children on two assistant professor salaries and can’t afford to divorce, even if they wanted to. Keeping him outside is a way to prevent the need for divorce.
Personally, I don’t do divorce, but I can see some marriages that need it desperately.
I needed it – and she decided it – it was about 10 years ago. Luckily, I got the kids, believe it or not.

According to Nurse Diesel, those who are tardy do not get fruit cup.
@Darwin Do we all have to share a fruit cup? Can’t we have pancakes too? There are some with the babby, next to the barrow in the frizzer.
As long as you aren’t tardy, you each get fruit cup and pancakes, but you may have to eat them under the pool.

Only if you want it to. Mine generally has apples and grapes in it, and sometimes blueberries.
